When did you start your job?
I started my career as a philosophy teacher in 1998. The bond I had with my teachers during my pupilage set the groundwork for my career.
Is there someone who left a trace on you?
Yes, during my high school years my philosophy teacher's lecture style, the way he communicates with us, affected my interest in the lessons. He was the one who sparked my interest in philosophy and shaped my career in this way.
What was the moment that you realized the importance of language? And why is this important to you?
When I attended an Erasmus trip with my students, I understood that knowing a universal language carries a lot of importance. I realized that language is not just a way of communication but also a bridge for cross-cultural at the same time. But this realization not only made me remember the power of foreign languages, but also reminded me of how much I need to have control over my own language too. I think a universal language would overcome the difficulties by breaking the barriers between humans and I think knowing a language actually means knowing the world.
Do you think communicating with students only affects their academic achievements or does it have a broader impact on their personal developement and lives?
I believe teachers and parents should approach teenagers in a warm and supportive way to help them develop healthy communication and social relationships. This is the only way to create an unforgettable impact and offer guiding examples in their lives. Besides that, I think providing opportunities for young people to socialize and making them feel relaxed at artistic and sporting events will shine a light on both their personal and professional futures by boosting their confidence.
